Mr. Timothy Cheong,
Managing Director
Mr. Timothy Cheong, age 39, is the founder and major shareholder of San You Development, a prominent real estate development and construction company in Macau. With 15 years of industry experience, Mr. Cheong had demonstrated the vision and abilities of anticipating market trends, overcoming technical challenges, and completing various real estate projects of high recognition in Macau.
Mr. Cheong found San You Development in 1997. From 1999, the company started its business in acquiring and developing non-performing assets in Macau disposed of by financial institutions. Such acquisitions and developments have enabled Mr. Cheong to accumulate extensive experience in real estate, finance and legal aspects. In 2003, Mr. Cheong completed a heritage building restoration project which was endorsed by the United Nations.
Mr. Cheong was the vice general manager of Sam Yau Real Estate Co. Ltd. from 1993 to 1998. He was responsible for the finance and legal matters of the company. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Cheong also work as the main coordinator for a US$200 million Sino-Portuguese joint venture cement factory in charge of finance and getting approvals from authorities in Beijing.
Mr. Cheong is presently the Honorable Chairman of both the Association of Property Agents and Realty Developers of Macau and Macau Property Evaluation Association. He is also a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Committee of Henan Province. Concurrently, Mr. Cheong holds directorships at the Macau Youth Entrepreneur Association. On the social side, Mr. Cheong is a director of the China Children and Teenagers’Fund, one of the first charitable foundation in the People’s Republic of China.
Mr. Cheong, who was born in Guangdong Province of the People’s Republic of China, is currently enrolled in the PhD program in international law from the University of International Business and Economics. He also had his tertiary education in the University of East Asia, Macau, the Western Australian College of Advanced Education, Perth and the Universidade de Lisboa, Portugal.
Mr. Sammy Wong,
Executive Director
Mr. Sammy Wong has served as Executive Director of San You since 2004, focusing on the Company's financial management. In this position, Mr. Wong's responsibilities include management of the corporate finance affairs, financial analysis & control, and group strategic investment planning & decisions.
Mr. Wong has 16 years of extensive banking experience gained with multinational financial institutions. Prior to joining San You Development, Mr. Wong was a Senior Manager of ICBC (Asia) Ltd from 2000 to 2004, General Manager of Deutsche Bank's Guangzhou Branch from 1995 to 2000; and General Manager of Deutsche Bank's Macau Branch from 1993 to 1995.
Mr. Wong holds a Bachelor's Degree of Social Science (Economics) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
Mr. Jackie Chan,
Deputy General Manager
Mr. Jackie Chan has been with San You since 2002. His main responsibilities include financial accounting and project cost control functions of the Company's development works.
Before joining the Company, Mr. Chan was the Deputy General Manager of San Kin Yip Investment and Development Company from 1993 to 1996 and was representing the owner in the Nam Van Lakes Project, which was the single largest real estate development in Macau. Mr. Chan was employed by Hyatt Regency Hotel in Macau in 1983 and subsequently promoted to the position of Financial Controller in 1988.
Mr. Chan holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree majoring in Accounting from the University of Houston in Texas.
Mr. Henry Tse,
Deputy General Manager
Mr. Henry Tse is the Deputy General Manager of the Company, a position he has held since 2005. In this position, Henry is responsible for the planning, design and construction management of the Company's property development works.
Mr. Tse has 20 years of experience in the construction and property development sectors having held senior postings with various major contractors and developers in Hong Kong and overseas. Prior to the Company Mr. Tse was the Assistant General Manager of COSCO (HK) Property Limited where he was responsible for the project management, sales and marketing of the company's property portfolio in Hong Kong, Macau and China between 1997 and 2005.
Mr. Tse holds Bachelor and Master of Applied Science (Civil Engineering) degrees from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. Mr. Tse also serves as Independent Non-executive Director of Tern Properties Limited, an property investment company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.
